We woke up to the sunrise and sound of monkeys every morning and also saw monkeys from the deck (as well as hummingbirds, butterflies, and lizards). When the wind died, it did get hot at night, but in general we were ok with the fans. There were surprisingly few mosquitos (perhaps because it was the very end of the dry season), but the beds had nice nets which should help if it's buggier. In addition to the beauty of the house and property, I can't say enough good things about the property manager Ximena, who met us at the house. She was so responsive both before our stay and during, letting us know about a ferry closure and even helping to arrange our dinner the first night we arrived. Highly recommend!

Having access to a washer dryer was great and we had good Internet connection so the kids were happy. Loved seeing the Howler monkeys around the gardens. A very special property.

We loved the setting , from the views from the rooms and deck to the area in general. We spent a great deal of time walking the roads, to the waterfall, the nearby restaurants, and all the way down fo the beach and loved every moment of it. We felt extremely fortunate to spend our time here, and would go back in a heartbeat.

Everyone was able to have their own private space - especially loved the multiple suites with views of the ocean! The pool was inviting and we enjoyed the many areas to sit and relax to read a book, play games, eat meals, enjoy coffee, and listen to the birds and howler monkeys nearby. We also saw frogs, hummingbirds, iguana, agouti, leaf cutter ants, butterflies, and more. The property itself had everything we needed. Lots of towels and linens, cooking supplies, and the water was fresh and drinkable. We went to the nearby grocery stores and also enjoyed local restaurants. No A/C, but plenty of fans and it cooled down enough at night, and if you ever felt too hot, the pool or outdoor showers were wonderful! Finally, our host Ximena was INCREDIBLE! She had so many recommendations and felt like a friend.
